GIRL WITH A JUG

Sculptor: Aytsemnik Urartu
The bas-relief is located on the
northern edge of Abovyan Park, on the retaining wall bordering the park, at the
beginning of Saralanj Street. The author is the People's Artist of the Armenian
SSR, the first Armenian female sculptor Aytsemnik Urartu (Ter-Khachatryan).
On a basalt slab
measuring 1.70 × 0.80 m, a full-length young girl is sculpted with a jug in her
hand. The water flowing from the jug falls into a small pool (height: 0.5 m).
It is one of the successful works of monumental-decorative art of the 1930s.
