“The New Santa Claus” takes the audience to the distant North, where, amid frost and snow, lives one of the most beloved characters of our childhood — Santa Claus. He is now full of years and experience, and the time has come for him to retire and pass on his mission of spreading kindness, faith, and miracles to his successor — his grandson. However, it soon becomes clear that the young man is not yet ready to bear this responsible and honorable title.
Santa Claus therefore embarks on a magical journey in search of someone who has believed in miracles since childhood and is raising his own child in the same spirit. In a distant western city, they meet a kind-hearted family whose father, through his simplicity and honesty, proves that he is the one truly destined to become the new Santa Claus.
The road to miracles is filled with numerous trials. Driven by envy and malice, Santa Claus’s grandson attempts to obstruct the choice, but kind hearts and faith in miracles overcome every obstacle. Evil plans fail, and the Council of Elders confirms the new Santa Claus, entrusting him with the great mission of bringing goodness to the world.

An exceptional stage interpretation of the immortal Armenian epic “David of Sassoun” (Sasuntsi Davit) will be performed at the National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after A. Spendiaryan.
The premiere of the ballet-oratorio will take place on December 18 and 19.
At the initiative of Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan, this unique work was created by the renowned ethno-electronic group “Hogh Arthun” and will make its debut at the National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after A. Spendiaryan.
