MEMORIAL “NEW ARABKIR” (“REVIVAL”)

Architect: Garnik Ghambaryan
The memorial is located on the high left bank of the Hrazdan River, in the “Arabkir” park, in an area landscaped with water pools. It was built by the project of architect Garnik Ghambaryan.
In the center of the memorial
stands a slender monument, ascending to a height of 20 meters, symbolizing the
rebirth of Armenia. Massive stone "wings" rise from both sides of the
monument. There is a pool in front of
it. On the left side of the memorial, positioned on a rectangular platform, are
10-meter-high metal bird sculptures, representing the symbols of the destroyed
and revived Arabkir.
The memorial is constructed of hewn basalt.
