State index: 1.7.18.3
The winepress is located on a gently sloping plane in the northern part of Dalma Garden, not far away from the tomb dating back to bronze-iron age. It was constructed in the 19th century, during the reign of Hossein Qoli Khan, the last Persian sardar of Yerevan (1807-1828), when the Dalma Canal was reopened, new gardens were established, viticulture and winemaking gained new momentum, many wineries and cellars were built.
The winepress N2 exhibits a rectangular plan with a
north-south extension, reaching the external dimensions of 5.8 x 3.7 meters.
The entrance is located to the north. The walls are semi-ruined, it is evident
that the structure once had a vaulted cover. Notable are the small triangular
niches on the eastern wall. It is built from raw stones of different sizes (basalt, tuff,
limestone) in the lower rows mand from red tuff stones predominating in the upper
rows. Remains of clay plaster have been preserved on the walls. The interior of
the hall is currently filled with stockpile of demolished rubble.
