FRIENDSHIP SQUARE
1982
Friendship Square is located in the Arabkir Administrative District of Yerevan, at the junction of Marshal Baghramyan Avenue and Kyivan, Hakob Hakobyan, Vazgen I (formerly Kasyan), and Hrachya Kochar Streets.
In 1982, the square was named
Friendship to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the USSR.
The Barekamutyun (Friendship)
Station of the Yerevan Metro is located within the square.
In 2007, an overpass (estacade)
connecting the Baghramyan–Vazgen I–Komitas grade-separated roadway with the
Kyivan–Hrachya Kochar connector road was constructed in the square.
