It is a living witness to the achievements of Armenian
sports, especially football, where not only football matches were held, but
also major cultural events, concerts, celebrations (“Golden Autumn”,
“Erebuni-Yerevan”, etc.).
The stadium has hosted many world sports “stars” such
as Franz Beckenbauer, Michel Platini, Zinedine Zidane, and others.
After independence, the first major renovation work on
the stadium was carried out in 2008, in preparation for the Armenia-Turkey
football match.
“Hrazdan” Stadium is one of the valuable and unique sports facilities of Soviet Armenian architecture, notable for its volumetric-spatial expressiveness.
