The basalt monument of Armen Tigranyan (1879-1950), the renowned Armenian composer, conductor, and founder of the Armenian National Opera, is situated in Circular Park, at the intersection of Vardanants and Tumanyan streets. The statue stands on a four-stepped platform. On the right side of the platform, a basalt slab is engraved with the name: ARMEN TIGRANYAN.
The
monument presents a full-height, collective image of the composer. The statue
features slightly stylized facial features, hair, and clothing, imparting a
lyrical and emotionally expressive quality to the portrayal. The height of the statue is 6
meters.
