The
basalt monument to Armen Tigranyan (1879-1950), an Armenian composer,
conductor, and founder of the Armenian National Opera, is located in the
Circular Park. It is placed on a four-tiered platform. On the right side of the
platform, the inscription ARMEN TIGRANYAN is engraved on the basalt slab.
Sculptor
Artashes Hovsepyan created a collective image of the composer. The famous
composer is sculpted standing in full height. The well-groomed facial features,
hair, and clothing give the statue lyricism and emotional expressiveness. The
height of the statue is 6 m.
