EUROPE SQUARE

2001-2007

Аrchitects: Narek Sargsyan and others

Europe Square is located in the central part of Northern Avenue. Its construction took place between 2001 and 2007, with a design project led by architect Narek Sargsyan.

On March 19, 2019, the Yerevan Council of Elders officially named the square to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Council of Europe (May 5, 1949). The naming ceremony was attended by Liliane Maury Pasquier, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), and Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan, who presented her with the Council of Elders' decision to name the square.

The circular square is surrounded by residential buildings, shopping centers, and service facilities. One of the area’s columns features a trilingual sign (in Armenian, English, and French) with the name “Europe Square.”
