The monument to the Yezidi victims killed in Sinjar province of Iraq

The monument to the Yezidis killed in Iraq in August 2014 was opened on Circular boulevard in Yerevan. The monument was created by the initiative of the Council of National Union of Yezidis «Midia-Shangal»,by the financial means of the benefactors Rashid and Agit Shamoyan. The administration of Armenia and Yerevan Municipality had assisted in the issue of construction too.
The monument represents a silhouette of a mother saving her baby. The baby embodies the future of the Yezidi people.
