"Pomegranates of Nagorno Karabakh": Film screening

Greek investigative journalist and filmmaker Thomas Sideris' humanist documentary chronicles the forced displacement of people in the Nagorno-Karabakh region during hostilities in the fall of 2020 and after the unreal agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Population movement at the border, human stories on fluid borders, fluid spatial reality against the background of pomegranate gardens.

The film recorded how the Armenian residents of the enclave, taking their few possessions with them, LEAVE their ancestral homes and become refugees in Yerevan and elsewhere. In the center of the story are mainly the elderly who face the harsh reality.
The film deals with the issue of loss: the loss of an ancestral home, the loss of collective memory, the loss of a child who dies or becomes a hostage in the hands of the enemy. How do people try to cope with loss? Is there hope for a better and safer future?

◼ The film is a participant and award winner of a number of international festivals.
◼ Duration: 81 minutes.
◼ Language: Armenian (with English subtitles).
◼ A discussion of the film is expected after the screening.
