Artist, filmmaker, animator, producer Davit Sahakyants was born in 1975 in Yerevan, in the family of eminent filmmakers/animators Robert and Lyudmila Sahakyants. Since 1992 he worked at the "Armenfilm" Film Studio (currently the National Cinema Center of the Republic of Armenia) as an artist-animator. In 2008 he became a member of the Union of Cinematographers of Armenia. In 2010, jointly with Hayk Sahakyants and Nana Sahakyants, he founded the "Sahakyants Animation” animation studio. In 2014 he also founded Workshop Studio of Animation after the name of Robert Sahakyants. А children's animation school-studio, which has no analogues in the region, has been created within Workshop Studio. In 2016 David Sahakyants was honoured with the title of Honored Art Worker of Armenia. He is author of more than 30 animated films.
