Month dedicated to Women: The Awakening of Spring
The springtime celebrations dedicated to women symbolize the continuity of life, love, beauty, and creativity. In Armenia, this symbolism has evolved into an entire month of festivity filled with love, appreciation and gratitude.
The month-long celebration begins on March 8, International Women's Day, which honors women's rights, achievements, and significant role in society. While in many parts of the world, this day primarily emphasizes women's rights and social contributions, in Armenia, it has taken on a warmer meaning becoming a unique occasion to express love and respect.
This beautiful festive period concludes on April 7, when Armenians celebrate The Annunciation of Holy Virgin Mary. The Armenian Apostolic Church has declared this day as a blessing day of mothers and women expecting the joy of motherhood, honoring the role of women as life-bearers.
In Yerevan, Women's Month is celebrated in a warm and festive spring atmosphere. Cultural and entertainment events, including concerts, exhibitions, and festivals, are organized to highlight the role of women in the family, society, culture, and the country's development.
