The ice factory is located at the intersection of Arshakunyats Avenue and Sevan Street, at 9 Arshakunyats Avenue. The building is a complex consisting of four separate dimensions connected with each other by hot passages, united around the inner courtyard. The main building is a deaf compact volume with the main façade oriented towards Arshakunyats Avenue. The façade is decorated with five arcaded, capitals in wall pillars and rosettes carved in the arched composition. Above the arch there are narrow semi-circular windows with sculpted upper parts. The decoration is completed by a delicate, garnished cornice, giving the façade several expression.
A
plan solution is dictated by the technological significance of the structure. It
is constructed of pink, smooth tuff, with a midis composition. There is used a
reinforced concrete construction. The wall base is of gray, roughly hewed
basalt.
The
ice factory building is one of the interesting industrial structures of Soviet
Yerevan. It stands out for its high level artistic architectural solutions
and interesting forms of wall tectonic solution.
