YEREVAN
EMBLEM OF YEREVAN
The author of the emblem is Albert Sokhikyan.
On
the blue background of the emblem of Yerevan, the word YEREVAN is
written in large Armenian bronze letters. On the pedestal stands a lion with
its head turned back, holding a scepter, which is considered a symbol of power.
Above its head is a crown with a stylized ornament in the middle symbolizing
the Tree of Life. On the lion’s chest, on the sign of eternity, there is an
image of Mount Ararat. The whole image is framed by a rectangular shield.
