"Urban Melodies: The Musical Transformations of Yerevan"

At the Yerevan History Museum, the exhibition titled “Urban Melodies: The Musical Transformations of Yerevan” is being organized within the framework of International Museum Day and Museum Night, under the theme “The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities.”
The exhibition presents the museum’s collection showcasing the full diversity of Armenian musical instruments.
The collection includes Armenian folk instruments, handcrafted pieces by musician-masters, samples produced by Yerevan Piano Factory, and musical instruments from the Souvenir Factory.
The main part of the museum’s instrument collection consists of handcrafted works by Armenian masters. Most of the instruments were acquired by the museum between the 1960s and 1980s.
Also on display are photographs and posters depicting musical life, as well as handwritten scores by Armenian composers.
The exhibition aims to make the sound of national instruments heard once again—as a sonic heritage born in the depths of centuries, passed down through generations, and still an integral part of our identity today.
Program:
During the event, students from A. Spendiaryan Music School and Sayat-Nova Music School will perform.
The exhibition will be open until July 17.
