The bust of Albert Azaryan (1929-2023), a prominent Armenian gymnast, three-time Olympic, four-time World, two-time European and Asian Games champion, Honorary President of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia (NOCA) and the Gymnastics Federation of Armenia, Honored Coach of the Armenian SSR, is installed in the courtyard of the Olympic Youth Sports School of Gymnastics named after the champion, located at Moskovyan 3. The bronze bust was installed on December 1, 2022. 93-year-old Albert Azaryan also participated in the opening ceremony.

The bust is placed on a cross-shaped pedestal. The latter symbolizes the complex of exercises performed by the world-famous Armenian on the rings, which was certified by the International Gymnastics Federation as the “Azaryan Cross”. The front of the pedestal is engraved with the words: ALBERT AZARYAN: THREE-TIME OLYMPIC CHAMPION.

The bust was made according to the picture when the 27-year-old athlete first won the title of Olympic champion (1956).
