Open air opera
The National Opera and Ballet Theater of Armenia presented three outdoor performances, featuring Armen Tigranyan's "Anoush" and Giuseppe Verdi's "La Traviata" operas at Yerevan's Tumo Park.
The project culminated in an Opera gala concert that included both Armenian and international stars, specially invited for the occasion. The lineup featured Veronika Jioyeva, Anahit Mkhitaryan, Karina Flores, Margarita Gritskova, Azamat Zheltrguzov, Todd Boyce, Hovhannes Ayvazyan, Davit Babayants, Gosh Sargsyan, Hayk Tigranyan, Monica Evelyn Liiv, and Gayane Babajanyan. The conductor for this remarkable event was Fabio Mastrangelo.

The Safavid army then laid siege to Yerevan on 15 November. The Persian army of Shah Abbas I conquered the Yerevan fortress after 9 months of siege, whereas the other towns of the Eastern Caucasus surrendered to the Shah with practically no resistance. Hundreds of thousands of Armenians, including residents of Yerevan, were taken captive and sent to Persia.
