Central Bank Visitor Center


The purpose of the Central Bank Visitor Center is to raise public awareness about the activities and role of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia.


The concept of establishing the Central Bank Visitor Center of the Republic of Armenia was adopted in 2007, taking into account the best practices of central banks of European countries and the peculiarities of our country. The purpose of establishing the Center is to raise public awareness about the activities and role of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia through various educational tools: static, thematic and interactive exhibitions.

VISITOR INFORMATION


The Central Bank Visitor Center of the Republic of Armenia is located in the historical building of the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia. The center features 24 static panels, 2 interactive zones: a banknote verification laboratory, an ATM, 2 multimedia games, 2 video films on the history and functioning of the national currency, cartoons explaining price and financial stability, the functioning of the financial system, as well as thematic videos.

The center hosts training courses for teachers of general education schools, thematic lectures, and visits for special groups.

The center is mainly visited by schoolchildren and students, whose visits are organized 2-3 times a day, in groups of up to 35 people. The center can also be visited by citizens who are interested in the history of banknotes, the activities of the Central Bank, and monetary policy.

The center has the following structure:

  1. History of circulation of coins of Armenia
  2. Currency of the Republic of Armenia
  3. Creation/manufacture of banknotes and coins
  4. Security features of the Dram
  5. Currency counterfeiting is crime
  6. Payment and settlement systems and payment cards
  7. Monetary policy
  8. International reserves management
  9. Financial system and supervision: supporting institutions, i.e. Financial System Mediator, ACRA Credit Bureau, Financial Monitoring Center, Deposit Guarantee Fund
  10. Open library
  11. Game room
  12. Cinema room
  13. Shop

The center's area is adapted for visitors with disabilities.
