HOLY MARTYRS CHURCH OF DAVTASHEN
The Holy Martyrs Church is dedicated to the memory of the Armenian soldiers martyred for the faith and the Motherland. 1996
The church was built near the Davtashen bridge. Construction began in 1996 under the patronage of Ruben Gevorgyan. The foundation blessing was performed on July 31, 1996, during the patriarchate of Catholicos Garegin I. The first Holy Liturgy was celebrated in the church on April 6, 2003, on Advent Sunday. The Holy Martyrs Church is dedicated to the memory of the Armenian soldiers martyred for the faith and the Motherland.
The
author of the church project is Levon Umedyan. The church is domed, built of
gray tuff, the floor, the Altar and the basin are marble. The wooden door of
the church with beautiful ornamental engravings was made by Arsen Panosyan.
There
is a parish council under the auspices of the church, which carries out various
charitable events and organizes pilgrimages. There is a Youth Union under the
auspices of the church.
