The sculpture represents the image of the
Mother of God, massive, with clear shapes, with a veiled head. She shows the
sign of the Holy Trinity with her hands. The figure has a calm and mysterious
expression. The child is sitting on her knees. There is a halo on her head. The
open position of the hands gives a sense of movement and liveliness to the
entire composition.
The sculpture is not only a general image
of mothernity, but a spiritual and symbolic image.
