“Yerevan Ballet Fest” as a new symbol of the city’s culture
The flamboyant ballet atmosphere was reigning in Yerevan for four days. On the last day of Yerevan Ballet Fest, Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre after Z.Paliashvili was on stage to perform classical and neoclassical ballet episodes.
“Yerevan Ballet Fest” has been initiated and accomplished by Yerevan Municipality in collaboration with the National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet after A.Spendiaryan.
This year the festival brought together more than 40 thousand spectators. The festival has become a real cultural firework in Yerevan which will grow into an annual tradition: next year new famous names will be hosted in our hospitable city.

1912-1913
It’s said that the first vehicle appeared in the city. It was brought from Tbilisi. Name of the first driver was Vardan, although in the city he was known as Mashti.
1920
The plan of the Yerevan in 1920 by M.Astvatsatryan. The map depicts Yerevan as it looked before the implementation of the master plan for the reconstruction of the city by architect Alexander Tamanyan (in 1924-1936), which changed the character of the city from a regional center to a major capital.
