MONUMENT TO ARAM KHACHATURIAN

The
monument to the world-famous Armenian composer, conductor, People's Artist of
the USSR, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Armenian SSR Aram
Khachaturian (1903-1978) is located in front of the main entrance to the
"Aram Khachaturian" concert hall, on a high platform. The ceremonial
opening took place on July 31, 1999.
The
composer is depicted sitting in an armchair, at the moment of creative upsurge.
The
monument is made of bronze, the platform is made of gray, polished granite
(7.55 × 3.80 m). The height of the sculpture is 3.50 m, the total height of the
monument is 4.55 m.
