Armenian State Song Theatre


The State Song Theater was established in 1994 as a result of the reorganization of the State Jazz Orchestra of Armenia. The theater began its operations in a building located on Khanjyan Street in Yerevan.

The premiere concert of the State Song Theater took place in December 1994 with the participation of the founders of the theater, including Syuzan Margaryan, Shushan Petrosyan, Grisha Agakhanyan, Aramo and Emma Petrosyan, Nune Yesayan, Ida Janibekyan, Forsh, Erna Yuzbashyan, Araksya Musheghyan, Anahit Manukyan, Armen Gevorkyan, Srbui Stamboltsyan, Artur Ispiryan, Grigor Antonyan, Irina Danielyan, Gayane Hovanesyan, and others.

The theater has organized numerous musical projects, contests, festivals, "Asup" annual award ceremonies, "Look" and "Just So" TV projects, "Yes" show, "Green Zone" and "Voices of Artsakh" projects, "Dar" all-Armenian contest-festival, "Real Story" and "Merry Notes" contests, authors' evenings, and musical performances for children.

The theater has been actively involved in concert activities and the development of music and theater genres in Armenia, actively seeking and nurturing young talent in the arts.

The theater has toured various countries, including the U.S., Russia, France, Australia, Bulgaria, and others. Many renowned Armenian singers began their creative journey at the State Song Theater, such as Andre, Varduhi Vardanyan, Arsen Safaryan, Alla Levonyan, Arsen Grigoryan, Zaruhi Babayan, Liana, Hasmik Karapetyan, Tigran Petrosyan, Nane Dance Ensemble, Eric Karapetyan, Kristine Pepelyan, Arman Aghajanyan, Aram Avakyan, Ara Martirosyan, Vardan Badalyan, Inga and Anush Arshakyan, Sofi Mkheyan, Razmik Hamyan, Hayko, and others.
