YEREVAN METRO “YERITASARDAKAN” STATION

It is located at the
intersection of Abovyan and Isahakyan streets.
The station was opened on March
7, 1981, during the first phase of the Yerevan Metro construction, at the time
of the launch of the Barekamutyun–Sasuntsi Davit line.
The interior is finished with
light gray marble. The floor is paved with basalt. Inside, there is the high
relief “Youth” by sculptor Ruzan Kyurkchyan. The exterior walls are clad with
travertine slabs.
The structures are made of
reinforced concrete. Glass has also been used.
It is one of the finest
examples of Soviet modernist architecture.
