ETERNAL FLAME - MONUMENT TO THE FIGHTERS WHO DIED FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF SOVIET RULE IN ARMENIA

Located
in the park connecting the Republic and Stepan Shahumyan squares. Built to
commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Sovietization of Armenia.
The
5-meter-high pillars, erected on a three-tiered pedestal, are connected at the
top by a wide copper ring, on which is written in convex letters:
ETERNAL
GLORY TO THE FIGHTERS WHO FELL IN THE FIGHT FOR SOVIET POWER.
In
the center of the pillars is a bowl with eternal fire. The monument is
distinguished by its stylistic brevity. The material is gray, polished granite.
It is the first monument with an eternal flame in Armenia.
