ALEXANDER MYASNIKYAN SQUARE

1980s, 2005

State Index: 1.6.131
Urban design composition: Architect Levon Vardanyan

Alexander Myasnikyan Square is located in the Kentron Administrative District, adjacent to Russia Square. Although it was envisaged in Yerevan’s master plans, the square was developed at a later stage. Its dominant feature is the full-length statue of Alexander Myasnikyan—a Soviet statesman, party and military figure, and literary scholar—carved from pink granite and mounted on a rectangular pedestal (1980; architect: Jim Torosyan; sculptor: Ara Shiraz).
