HISTORICAL BUILDINGS
It
is located in the Circular Park, at 1 Isahakyan Street.
Built
according to the design of architect Stepan Kyurkchyan. The author of the
fountains, colorful bas-reliefs and the chandelier is also Kyurkchyan.
In
the 1940s-1950s, the wooden "Green Theater" operated on the territory
of the Chamber Music House, which later burned down.
The
idea of having a
Chamber Music House belonged to the Chairman of the Yerevan City Council of the
Armenian SSR Grigor Hasratyan (mayor 1962-1975).
The
opening took place in October 1977 with a performance by the Komitas String
Quartet. In 1979 an organ was installed here, which is unique unique of its
kind in the former USSR.
The
building of the Chamber Music House is distinctive in its form, built on the
principle of "free planning".
