MONUMENT TO THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF SOVIET RULE IN ARMENIA

Located at the intersection of Admiral Isakov Avenue and the road leading to the Noragyugh district, on the right bank of the Hrazdan River.
Built
in 1950 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Soviet rule
in Armenia (architect: Arshavir Minasyan).
Near
the monument, slightly below, at the initiative of the RA Ministry of Defense
and Yerevan Municipality, a monument to Hovhannes Isakov, an Armenian admiral
of the Soviet Navy, Hero of the Soviet Union, and corresponding member of the
USSR Academy of Sciences, was installed in 2005 (architect: Levon Mkrtchyan,
sculptors: Gevorg Gevorgyan, Robert Balayan). The sculpture is cast in bronze,
and the pedestal is made of granite.
The height is 6 meters.
