MONUMENT TO MOVSES KHORENATSI

The monument to Movses Khorenatsi, the “Father of Armenian History” (5th century), is situated at 1st Alek Manukyan Street, in front of the main building of Yerevan State University (YSU).
This
prominent sculpture is set on a rectangular platform and depicts Khorenatsi
seated on a rock fragment, holding an open book, which represents his renowned
work, “History of the Armenians.” The monument is crafted from two large pieces
of basalt and stands approximately 3 meters tall.
Notable
for its grandeur, the monument is also of significant historical value.
