RESIDENTIAL HOUSE
Second half of the 19th century – early 20th century
State Index: 1.6.203.9
The
house is located on Hanrapetutyun Street.
It
is a two-story building with a basement. The main block has a rectangular floor
plan. One of the side volumes, oriented toward the alley, is inclined relative
to the longitudinal wall. The side wing of the main block has a trapezoidal
plan and contains utility and domestic rooms.
The
main façade is faced with roughly dressed stone. The side sections feature
vertical pilaster strips, within which the rectangular openings of the lower
floor are architecturally articulated with flat three-part columns. The
upper-floor windows have half-columns with sculpted capitals. In the central
recessed section, the openings are also rectangular and framed with surrounds,
decorated on the second tier with brackets and ornamental cornices.
The
façade composition is dominated by horizontal articulation: a projecting
plinth, a belt of window-base panels with recessed or cubic elements, and a
mid-level frieze with triglyph-like motifs, crowned by a cornice.
The
load-bearing walls are built of rubble stone masonry with mortar. The façade
facing Hanrapetutyun Street is clad in black tuff. The ceilings are flat and
wooden. The roof is pitched.
