19th century
State index: 1.7.11.6
It
is located in the central part of the garden, on a gently sloping surface, to
the west of the metal irrigation pipeline.
It
was built in the 19th century, when during the reign of the last Persian sardar
of Yerevan, Hussein Qoli Khan (1807–1828), the Dalma canal was restored, new
orchards were established, and viticulture and winemaking developed, along with
the construction of numerous pressing houses and cellars.
It
is a rectangular vaulted structure, with its entrance on the southern side. The
central part of a semicircular vault has been preserved.
It
is built from rough basalt, while the vault is made of red tuff brick
(soot-darkened). In the lower rows of the vault there are small rectangular
niches. The interior is filled with rubble.
Surrounding
the structure, terraced vineyard gardens are still preserved.
