Armenian Genocide Monument


The Armenian Genocide Monument is located in the administrative district of Erebuni. It was erected in 1965 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The monument is dedicated to the martyrs of Sebastopol Armenians who died in the Great Genocide of 1915. It features a unique and slender design, with the symbol of eternity depicted on the eagle's wing, representing the immortality of the Armenian nation's spirit. Various artistic elements of the monument symbolize the rebirth of life.
The memorial has the inscription: ''Commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of the Great Genocide, from the residents of the district, 1915-1965.''
