1997
State index: 1.6.125
Architect: Romeo Julhakyan
The monument is located in the Ring Park, adjacent to Moskovyan Street.
It is dedicated to architect Karo Halabian (1897-1959), Honored Artist of
the Armenian SSR, Academician of the USSR Academy of Architecture, who is the
author of numerous residential, administrative, cultural, and other buildings
constructed in Yerevan and Moscow during the 1930s-1950s. It was installed on
the occasion of Halabian's 100th birth anniversary.
The small architectural form harmoniously combines elements of ancient and early medieval architecture, creating a solid composition of an Ionic capital with three triangular niches. Engraved on the front surface of the capital is:
ARCHITECT
KARO HALABIAN
ON THE OCCASION OF HIS 100TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY
The reverse side shows the installation year: 1997. It is made of polished, massive basalt stones.
This is a noteworthy monument perpetuating the memory of the accomplished
architect.
