1985
State index: 1.11.13
Architect: Hovhannes Berberyan
Sculptor: Mikael Jaghatspanyan
The monument is located at the end of Arshakunyats Avenue, near the “Erebuni” airport. It consists of a pair of plane-shaped sculptures installed on a platform. To the right of the monument are sculptures of flying cranes, while the left side features a symbol of eternity.
The
memorial has a complex thematic composition. A bilingual inscription runs along
the upper edge, reading: “NO ONE HAS BEEN FORGOTTEN, NOTHING HAS BEEN
FORGOTTEN. 1941-1945.” Below this inscription, there are flat sculptures
depicting various symbols, including a hammer and sickle, an eagle, grapes,
pomegranates, and a war scene.
The monuments are constructed from concrete and covered with white cement, while the memorial itself is made of tuff. The overall dimensions are 25 x 4 meters. The monument serves as a tribute to the pilots who lost their lives during the war.
