MONUMENTS

The monument was installed on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the world-famous Armenian conductor Ohan Duryan in Freedom Square, next to the A. Spendiaryan National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet. The ceremonial opening took place on November 4, 2022. The location of the monument was chosen so that it would be close to the grave of Duryan's beloved composer Alexander Spendiaryan. The monument consists of three soaring dark glass columns. On the middle column is a bronze bust of Ohan Duryan, and on the neighboring columns are his bronze hands at the moment of conducting the orchestra. Music is played from speakers installed on the pedestal of the statue.
