The monument to Tigran the Great (95-55
BC), one of the prominent rulers of the Artaxiad
dynasty
of the Kingdom of Greater Armenia, is located in the back yard of the President of the Republic of Armenia's
residence.
The statue is placed on a low, polished
basalt pedestal. The king is depicted seated on a throne in royal attire,
holding a dagger in his right hand. The statue is made of marble and is 2.8 m
high.
