The National Center for Aesthetics ( GAC ) was founded in Yerevan in 1978 by art critic Henrik Igityan , based on the world's first children's art gallery, established in 1970.
The center is engaged in the development of children's art, exhibition, preservation, and aesthetic education.
The Center operates the Museum of Children's Art, the "Fine Arts-Decorative Applied Arts" department with its many studios, two theaters: the "Small Theater", the "Metro" theater-studio, the Children's Philharmonic with its dance studio, the "Goran" ensemble, as well as the national music school. The center also has branches in the cities of different regions of Armenia: Gyumri, Vanadzor, Meghri, Sjan and Goris .
